There were two fixtures in the Premier Division this week, first up Thatto Heath St Helens hosted Normanton Knights with the homeside earning a 26-16 victory.
The game was entertaining throughout with Normanton scoring some good tries through Lindsay Anfield, Erica Rennison and Terri Greenfield.
For the winners Jodie Cunningham, Holly Freestone, Jenny Welsby, Beth Sutcliffe and Emily Rudge all crossed the whitewash. Sutcliffe added three goals and loose forward Rudge earned the player of the match award.
In the other Premier fixture Bradford Thunderbirds were away to Coventry Bears and it was the visitors who came out on top winning 40-12.
The home side scored two well worked tries in the second half through Leah Williams and Joanne Hart but Bradford could not be caught.
Danielle Bose and Lisa Taylor both scored once, Taylor adding three goals.
Lauren Stallard scored twice, Kirsty Moroney scored an impressive five tries and full back Charlotte Booth was Bradford’s player of the match.
In Division One Crosfields Ladies were at home to Oulton Raiders and the home side ran out 28-4 winners.
Laura Burke, Zoe Harris, Vicky Whitfield, Sam Quigg and Gemma Hennessey all scored once whilst Tara Stanley notched up a try and two goals to seal the win.
Also in Division One Castleford Panthers welcomed Whinmoor and it was Castleford who won 50-0. Mary Tiplady impressed throughout for the visitors but on the day Castleford were too strong.
Brogan Churn, Ashley Rice, Nikki Harrison, Amy Sharp and Grace Field all scored one try each. Hayley Fielding scored twice, Sam Boyes scored once and added seven goals and centre Ellie Smith capped a player of the match performance with a try.
Finally in the first round of the Challenge Cup there were three fixtures, Stanningley Ladies were at home to Hunslet Hawks. Stanningley progressed to the next round in convincing fashion with a 56-0 win.
There were tries for Chloe Gaines, Emily Raw, Jess Borza, Kirsty Ryan and Helen Martin. Manina Spurr scored a hatrick of tries and Rhiannon Marshall did the same and also kicked five goals.
Lana McCabe was the player of the match for Hunslet and Stanningleys full back Helen Martin got the award for the winners.
Leigh Miners Rangers were drawn away to Chorley Panthers and the visitors ran out winners 20-8.
Brighouse ladies welcomed Wigan St Patricks and Wigan came away with the win 40-8. For the home side Lauren Rose and Jordan Newsome both scored.
For Wigan Toni Iobian, Charlotte Foley and Laura Bent all scored once, Gemma Whitton scored twice and centre Armani Sharrop put in a great performance scoring three tries and earning the player of the match award.
